Today, January 19, schools across Pakistan have officially reopened after winter holidays. The decision affects millions of students, parents, and teachers nationwide.

According to the Education Minister, schools are operating as scheduled from today. Staff timings are 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM, while students will attend classes from 8:45 AM to 1:30 PM, as per the pre-holiday notification.

In Punjab, the School Education Department has initiated recruitment for around 4,000 non-teaching staff, including clerical and Class IV positions. The department has also clarified that employees in Scale 1–16 no longer need to visit Lahore for transfers.
Meanwhile, Pashto has been made a mandatory subject from Primary to Intermediate level in KP government schools. Punjab has also moved forward with a major plan to establish 6,000 modern STEAM labs in schools.
